The museum's holdings include two photo collections:

Hugo Atzwanger Collection
Hugo Atzwanger (1883-1960) was a talented painter, draftsman and photographer. From 1939 to 1943 he photographed numerous farms and settlements in South Tyrol on behalf of the “SS-Ahnenerbe” cultural commission.

Erika Groth-Schmachtenberger Collection
Erika Groth-Schmachtenberger (1906-1992), photographer from Germany, worked internationally. She traveled through South Tyrol several times in the 1950s and 1960s and captured the country and its people in pictures.

The nearly 30,000 photos date from the period between 1930 and 1970.
